Madison Central is a perfect 9-0 against Murrah since October of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Jaguars will square off against the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Madison Central is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Mississippi's top teams: Oxford, who was ranked seventh at the time (Madison Central was ranked 18th). The Jaguars fell just short of the Chargers by a score of 16-14 last Friday. Jaguars fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Chargers since last Friday.

Despite the loss, Madison Central had strong showings from Tripp Smith, who threw for 211 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and Tylan Hutchins, who picked up 86 receiving yards and one score. Hutchins really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 73 yards.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Murrah's offense. They were outmatched by Clinton and fell 35-0. The Mustangs haven't had much luck with the Arrows recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Madison Central's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Murrah, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.

Everything went Madison Central's way against Murrah in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as Madison Central made off with a 27-6 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Jaguars since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
