Basketball Recap: Richland Comes Up Short

After soaring to 64 points the game before, Richland was a bit more limited in their contest on Thursday. They were outmatched by the Greater Johnstown Trojans and fell 57-27. The Rams have struggled against the Trojans recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Richland's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Arnold Mugerwa, who posted eight points and seven boards.

Richland now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Greater Johnstown, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-1.

Coming up, Richland will be home for the holidays to greet Penn Cambria at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. The Rams' defense better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 63.2 points per game this season. Greater Johnstown has already played their next game (against McKeesport), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
