Football Recap: Chase Rohde's Menacing Defense Leads Lorena over Connally + How To Watch

Lorena got their first taste of in-conference action on Friday and they started things off strong. They managed a 27-21 victory over the Connally Cadets. For the Leopards, this counts as revenge for the 34-7 win the Cadets walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

One reason for the win was Lorena's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. In that department, Chase Rohde was the leader with two. Brody Deleon got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Despite the loss, Connally still got an impressive performance from Braeden Ford, who rushed for 148 yards and three TDs. With that strong performance, Ford is now averaging an impressive 101.9 rushing yards per game.

With the victory, Lorena broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-5. As for Connally, they dropped their record down to 2-6 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.
