Soccer Game Preview: Kennedy vs. Bishop Alemany

Kennedy hasn't had much luck against Bishop Alemany recently, but that could start to change on Monday. Both will round out the year against one another at at 6:30 p.m.

Kennedy is headed into Monday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Saturday. They were one goals away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of Canyon. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Cougars came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 85th, while the Cowboys are ranked 670th).

Meanwhile, Bishop Alemany put another one in the bag last Friday to keep their perfect season alive. Their defense stepped up to hand Taft a 2-0 shutout.

Danielle Galindo and Isabella Burgess scored both of Bishop Alemany's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 14 goals.

Bishop Alemany's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-0. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 29 goals over those five contests. As for Kennedy, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3-1.

Kennedy suffered a grim 4-0 defeat to Bishop Alemany in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Can Kennedy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
