Baseball Game Preview: Hunterdon Central Red Devils vs. Princeton Tigers

The Hunterdon Central Red Devils will face off against the Princeton Tigers on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Hopewell Valley Central hit Hunterdon Central with a four-run seventh inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Red Devils fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 10-8. The Red Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Chase Reinhard made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. Nik Holot was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs.

Meanwhile, Princeton suffered their biggest defeat since May 5th on Monday. They lost 24-3 to Notre Dame.

Princeton's loss dropped their record down to 9-16-1. As for Hunterdon Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-13.

Hunterdon Central came out on top in a nail-biter against Princeton in their previous matchup back in May of 2016, sneaking past 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Red Devils since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
