Soccer Game Preview: Sandy Creek vs. Griffin

The Sandy Creek Patriots are taking a road trip to take on the Griffin Bears at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Griffin took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Sandy Creek, who comes in off a win.

Griffin will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Sandy Creek extended their winning streak to three on Tuesday. The Patriots came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 1-0 W against Upson-Lee. That's two games straight that Sandy Creek have won by just one goal.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Alejandro Chinchilla, who's now up to three this season.

Meanwhile, while the 2-2 score might suggest a draw, it was McDonough who was credited with the win on Wednesday. The Warhawks got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to Griffin's two. Griffin have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Sandy Creek's victory bumped their record up to 6-8-1. As for Griffin, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6.
