Soccer Game Preview: Granite Hills vs. Serrano

The Granite Hills Cougars will head out to take on the Serrano Diamondbacks at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Granite Hills is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games.

Granite Hills had to skate by with only a one-goal margin when they last took the pitch, which might have inspired the three-goal drubbing they dealt West Covina on Saturday. The Cougars put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 3-0 win. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Granite Hills' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 78th, while West Covina are ranked 445th).

Arlette Rocha and Layla Lobato scored all three of Granite Hills' goals, bringing their combined season tally to six goals.

Meanwhile, Serrano fell victim to San Pedro and their airtight defense on Saturday. They came up short against the Pirates, falling 6-0. Serrano have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Granite Hills' victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Serrano, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

Granite Hills took their win against Serrano in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
