Soccer Game Preview: Providence vs. Westridge

Providence hasn't had much luck against Westridge recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Providence Pioneers will be playing at home against the Westridge Tigers at 3:10 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Providence is headed into Wednesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Monday. 2025 welcomed they with a 4-0 loss courtesy of Polytechnic. While losing is never fun, the Pioneers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 693rd, while the Panthers are ranked 295th).

Meanwhile, Westridge was not able to break out of their rough patch back in December of 2024 as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 7-1 to Flintridge Sacred Heart. The Tigers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 4-0.

Providence now has a losing record at 4-5-1. As for Westridge, they now have a losing record at 2-3-3.
