Soccer Recap: Winters' Higher State Rank on Full Display on Saturday

Winters proved they can win big on Friday (they won by four) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They never let the Red Bluff Spartans get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory. Given Winters' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 20th, while Red Bluff are ranked 173rd) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Winters' one-goal win came courtesy of Idaly Lopez Sanchez, who's now up to three this season.

Winters' win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Red Bluff, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Winters wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next match, a 3-1 victory against Las Plumas on the 6th. As for Red Bluff, they have also already played their next contest, a 7-0 win against Orland on the 6th.
