Football Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Cedar Vale/Dexter

Cedar Vale/Dexter took a 49-point loss the last time they faced off against Oswego, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Spartans skirted past the Indians 88-86. The win was familiar territory for the Spartans, who have now won four games in a row.

Cedar Vale/Dexter was led to victory by Royce Potter and Cooper Criss. Potter rushed for 193 yards and six TDs while picking up 7.7 yards per carry, while Criss rushed for 123 yards and a pair of scores. Those 193 rushing yards gave Potter a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Wyatt Martin, who picked up 57 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Cedar Vale/Dexter was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 325 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Cedar Vale/Dexter's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Oswego, they moved to 5-2 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Cedar Vale/Dexter does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Oswego, they will welcome Sedan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Indians will need to watch out since the Devils have now posted at least 31 points in their last three contests.
