Basketball Game Preview: Adelanto Saints vs. Victor Valley Jackrabbits

Adelanto hasn't had much luck against Victor Valley recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Adelanto Saints will head out on the road to take on the Victor Valley Jackrabbits at 6:00 p.m. Adelanto is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.1 points per game this season.

Last Wednesday, Adelanto was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 46-45 to Silverado.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Nyomi Sanchez, who posted 17 points in addition to six boards and four steals. Another player making a difference was Dae?Ani Durio, who had 14 points along with five rebounds and four steals.

Even though they lost, Adelanto smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in four consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Victor Valley didn't have too much trouble with Granite Hills on Wednesday as they won 54-35.

Adelanto better focus on containing Arnetta Ealy Newton and Eris Roberts as the pair were huge in Victor Valley's win. Ealy Newton dropped a double-double on 15 points and 15 boards, while Roberts went 6 of 14 en route to 15 points and three steals. The game was Ealy Newton's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Eden Roberts, who earned six points.

Victor Valley is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 8-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.3 points per game. As for Adelanto, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-11.

Adelanto beat Victor Valley 45-36 in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Will Adelanto repeat their success, or does Victor Valley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
