Softball Recap: Wilcox County Takes a Loss

The Wilcox County Patriots didn't have quite enough to beat the Pierce County Bears on Thursday and fell 5-4. The Patriots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Lizzy Rae Gibbs made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Zariah Martin was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Wilcox County's defeat dropped their record down to 13-9. As for Pierce County, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-8 record this season.

As of now, neither Wilcox County nor Pierce County have any future games scheduled.
