Softball Recap: Bayard Comes Up Short

Bayard came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Wray/Yuma Eagles, falling 17-3. The Tigers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 4-2.

Bayard saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaidence Lee, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Lee is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last 12 games she's played.

Bayard's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Wray/Yuma, they moved to 7-10 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Coming up, Bayard is taking a road trip to square off against Chase County at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Wray/Yuma, they will be playing at home against Limon at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
