Softball Recap: Lincoln East Comes Up Short in High-Profile Game with Norris

Lincoln East faced Norris in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Spartans took a 12-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Titans. The Spartans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Titans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2022.

Olivia Mays made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Kallee Hemry, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Lincoln East and nudges their season record down to 14-11. As for Norris, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-8.

Lincoln East didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 13-3 win against North Platte on the 27th. As for Norris, they have also already played their next contest, a 5-0 victory against Grand Island on the 27th.
