Millville suffers fourth straight loss on the road

Recap: Millville Quakers vs. Montgomery Red Raiders

If the Millville Quakers were riding high off their 54-26 takedown of the Sullivan County Griffins last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Millville took a 47-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of Montgomery. Millville was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Montgomery apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.

When it comes to explaining why Millville lost on Monday, one person who can't be blamed is Larissa Evans. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds. Evans scored a full 48.8% of Millville's points, the 12th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Kaylie Stiner was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with ten rebounds and three steals.

It was another big night for Falin Reynolds, who scored 22 points along with seven rebounds and six steals for Montgomery. That makes it four consecutive games in which Reynolds has scored at least 25% of Montgomery's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Madisyn Miller, who scored six points along with 12 rebounds.

Millville's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 6-6. As for Montgomery, their victory bumped their record up to 4-7.

Millville will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Neumann Regional Academy at 6:00 p.m. Neumann Regional Academy will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Montgomery, they will head out on the road to face off against Benton at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
