Football Game Recap: Deming Wildcats vs. Artesia Bulldogs

Deming extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to five on Friday, dropping them down to 0-4. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 41-14 to the Artesia Bulldogs, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Mexico football rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while the Bulldogs are ranked fifth).

As for Artesia, their win bumped their record up to 3-1. That looming 41-14 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for them yet this season.

Artesia had a senior duo take command as Derrick Warren threw for 155 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 passes and Bryce Parra rushed for 118 yards on only nine carries. Parra is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 118 every time he's taken the field this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Deming will challenge Roswell at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Artesia, they will venture away from home to square off against Gadsden at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs will need to watch out since the Panthers have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
