Basketball Recap: Avonworth Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Avonworth can now relate to. They were outmatched by the Northwestern Wildcats and fell 58-31. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Antelopes have suffered since January 21st.

It was another big night for Makayla Presser-Palmer, who shot 6-for-11 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double with 40 points and 13 rebounds for Northwestern. Presser-Palmer's big performance that evening made it 22 games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Gorzynski, who posted eight points.

Avonworth's defeat dropped their record down to 18-9. As for Northwestern, the win keeps them at an undefeated 25-0.

As of now, neither Avonworth nor Northwestern have any future games scheduled.
