Baseball Recap: Sunapee Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Sunapee extended their winning streak to three on Thursday, bumping them up to 13-3. They were the clear victors by a 14-8 margin over the Newport Tigers. The result was nothing new for the Lakers, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.

As for Newport, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-17. On the bright side, the eight- run performance marked their highest-scoring contest to date.

For Newport's part, they got a massive performance out of Andrew Benoit, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Nik Shepardson, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI.

Sunapee does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Newport, they will challenge Fall Mountain at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
