Santa Paula is 10-0 against Nordhoff since January of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Santa Paula Cardinals will venture away from home to square off against the Nordhoff Rangers at 6:00 p.m. Nordhoff took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Santa Paula, who comes in off a win.

If Nordhoff heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Santa Paula took over last week. Santa Paula came out on top in a nail-biter against Hueneme on Wednesday, sneaking past 2-1. That's two games straight that the Cardinals have won by just one goal.

Meanwhile, Nordhoff was not able to break out of their rough patch last Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They lost 8-2 to Channel Islands. While losing is never fun, the Rangers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 1090th, while the Raiders are ranked 455th).

Charlotte Smith and Jocelyn Jimenez scored both of Nordhoff's goals, bringing their combined season tally to five goals.

Nordhoff's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Santa Paula, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-4.

Santa Paula took their win against Nordhoff when the teams last played back in December of 2024 by a conclusive 6-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for Santa Paula since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
