Football Recap: Brackenridge Eagles vs. Jefferson Mustangs
Brackenridge extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 2-7. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 32-29 heartbreaker at the hands of the Jefferson Mustangs. The Eagles lost against the Mustangs in their previous head to head back in November of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 48-10 score last time.
As for Jefferson, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 3-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 32.0 points over those games.
Michael Bejar had a dynamite game, rushing for 209 yards and four scores while picking up 7.5 yards per carry. He also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making seven total tackles and defending two passes in addition to snagging two interceptions which he returned for a touchdown.
We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Brackenridge will face off against rival Highlands at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Jefferson is set to challenge their familiar foe Edison at 7:00 p.m. on the 8th.
