Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Richwood). They blew past Bastrop 36-6 on Thursday. Given Richwood's advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana football rankings (they are ranked 118th, while Bastrop is ranked 260th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

The victory was the third in a row for Richwood, bringing their record up to 4-5. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 8.7 points on average over those games. As for Bastrop, they dropped their record down to 0-9 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Richwood is set to square off against their familiar foe Carroll at 7:00 p.m. on November 7. Meanwhile, Bastrop will challenge rival North Webster at 7:00 p.m. on November 7.
