Softball Recap: Tahlequah Comes Up Short in High-Profile Contest with Tuttle

Tahlequah faced Tuttle in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. Tahlequah took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of Tuttle. The loss continues a trend for Tahlequah in their meetings with Tuttle: they've now lost three in a row.

Alix Kimble spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six runs (all of which were unearned) on seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Jordan Stark made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs.

Tahlequah's defeat dropped their record down to 27-4-1. As for Tuttle, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-5 record this season.

Tahlequah will be playing in front of their home fans against Stillwater at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Tuttle, they will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Jenks at 11:45 a.m. The last three games the Trojans have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
