Football Recap: Dylan Theel Key Part of Team Effort in Indians Win

There's no place like home for Osage City, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They took down the Riley County Falcons 27-8 on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Indians also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

Osage City's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Dylan Theel led the charge by rushing for 140 yards and one score on only 12 carries, while also catching one touchdown. Theel's longest rush was for an incredible 83 yards. Tate Smith was in the mix as well, providing Osage City with two TDs.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Osage City was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 235 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 205 rushing yards in six consecutive matchups.

Osage City's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-1. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 29 points. As for Riley County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.
