Texas high school football: Kiefer Sibley of Connally leads state rushing yardage leaders

According to statistics submitted to MaxPreps, Kiefer Sibley of Connally (Waco) leads Texas high school football in rushing yardage with 1,090 yards. See the complete list of top 50 rushing yardage leaders below.

Sibley, who is averaging over 14 yards per carry, needed just 76 carries to get to his yardage total and 15 touchdowns. Last week, the 5-foot-10, 185-pound senior ran for 205 yards and a pair of scores in a 61-41 loss to China Spring.

After running for 138 yards and two scores in the season-opener, Sibley topped 300 yards in back-to-back weeks, including a season-high 391-yard, five-touchdown effort in a 59-38 win over C.H. Yoe (Cameron).

Kaden Dixon of Center is second on the list just 32 yards behind Sibley. Dixon is responsible for 1,058 yards and 10 touchdowns on 103 carries. Last week, he ran for 189 yards and a score after churning out a season-high 337 yards and four scores in a 66-20 win over Spring Hill (Longview) earlier this month.



Titus Petteway of Manor is the only other Texas back to reach 1,000 yards this season. He has chalked up 1,013 yards and 15 touchdowns on 94 carries.
