Softball Recap: Greenbrier's Winning Streak Snapped at Five Games

Greenbrier dropped down to 19-9 on Saturday, ending the team's five-game streak of wins. They lost 12-4 to the South Effingham Mustangs. The Wolfpack were not able to make up for their loss to the Mustangs from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Greenbrier saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Harlem Waul, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

As for South Effingham, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 18-2. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won 13 matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

On South Effingham's side, they got a big performance out of Makenzi Polk, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. That's the most runs Polk has posted since back in August. Sydney Minshall was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs.

Greenbrier has already played their next game, a 7-0 defeat against Glynn Academy on the 4th. As for South Effingham, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 4-3 loss against Effingham County on the 4th.
