Football Recap: Huge Rushing Attack Leads Memphis University School over Memphis Central + How To Watch

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Brentwood Academy, Memphis University School was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They strolled past the Memphis Central Warriors with points to spare, taking the game 49-34. The high-scoring effort was just what the Owls needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Memphis University School found their leader in sophomore Tommie Reed, who rushed for 107 yards and a pair of scores on only 11 carries. Those 107 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Reed. Jackson Hood was in the mix as well, providing Memphis University School with two TDs.

Memphis University School was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 342 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.

Memphis University School's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Memphis Central, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 6-2.

Looking ahead, Memphis University School will venture away from home to challenge Christian Brothers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Memphis Central, they will host Kingsbury at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Warriors will be up against the Falcons' rather soft defense (which has allowed 43.88 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
