Lincoln Southwest proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by eight) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 win over the Staley Falcons. The victory was nothing new for the Silver Hawks as they're now sitting on six straight.

Bryn Pribnow tossed a big game, striking out eight batters over 4.1 innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Veronica Vela, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and two RBI. Ja'Sara Wilson was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs and two RBI.

Lincoln Southwest was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .476. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .316 or higher in six consecutive contests.

Lincoln Southwest's record is now 17-1. As for Staley, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Coincidentally, Lincoln Southwest and Staley will both be playing Papillion-LaVista South the next time they take the field. The Silver Hawks will head out to face the Titans at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, while the Falcons will play them later in the day, at 1:00 p.m.
