Basketball Recap: Ajaila Jordan Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Weston Ranch

Edison won the last time they faced Weston Ranch and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Edison Vikings put the hurt on the Weston Ranch Cougars with a sharp 50-30 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Vikings.

Edison got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ajaila Jordan out in front who posted 19 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Jordan has scored at least a third of Edison's points. Another player making a difference was Aniyah Wilson, who had 13 points.

Weston Ranch's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lila Harper, who scored four points along with 12 rebounds and four blocks. Harper has been hot, having posted two or more blocks the last eight times she's played. Ja'Naysha Green was another key player, putting up six points in addition to seven steals and four blocks.

Edison's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-11. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.3 points per game. As for Weston Ranch, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-16 record this season.

Edison wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 54-51 win against Coalinga on the 1st. Weston Ranch has also already played their next contest, a 54-12 loss against Piedmont on the 1st.
