Basketball Recap: Bodine Comes Up Short

Bodine and Schuylkill Haven squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Bodine had to settle for second. They took a blow against the Schuylkill Haven Hurricanes, falling 51-15. While losing is never fun, Bodine can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 396th, while Schuylkill Haven is ranked 99th).

Leading Schuylkill Haven to victory were Alea Porter and Kylie Siket. Porter posted 16 points, while Siket put up 14 points. That's the most points Siket has posted since back in January. Another player making a difference was Anna Schaeffer, who earned eight points.

Bodine has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season. Schuylkill Haven is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-6 record this season.

While Bodine had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
