Artesia had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. Everything went their way against the Carlsbad Cavemen/Cavegirls as they made off with a 48-24 victory. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Cavemen/Cavegirls recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Derrick Warren threw for 109 yards and one TD. Trent Egeland was his top target, picking up 59 receiving yards.

Carlsbad lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was ELOY LOPEZ, who rushed for 45 yards and a pair of scores, and also threw for 114 yards and one touchdown. BROCK WRIGHT helped out on the ground, rushing for 130 yards.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Artesia will take on Hobbs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Carlsbad, they will challenge Goddard at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
