Softball Recap: Cairo Drops Season-High Score on Dougherty

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cairo). Everything went their way against the Dougherty Trojans on Tuesday as they made off with a 17-1 win. The high-scoring effort was just what the Syrupmakers needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Cairo's victory bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Dougherty, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-6.

Coming up, Cairo will square off against Westover at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Patriots have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.6 runs per game on average), something the Syrupmakers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Dougherty, they will take on Peach County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
