Recap: Tehachapi Warriors vs. East Bakersfield Blades
The Tehachapi Warriors came tearing into Monday's contest with 11 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 37.6 points) and they left with even more momentum. They claimed a resounding 60-24 win over East Bakersfield on the road. Tehachapi has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 16 contests by 23 points or more this season.
Tehachapi's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Riley Walden led the charge by scoring 18 points along with six assists. Another player making a difference was Kennedy Perkins, who scored 13 points along with six steals and four blocks.
Tehachapi's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-2. As for East Bakersfield, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tehachapi will challenge Arvin at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Arvin will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 570th, while Tehachapi is ranked 153rd). As for East Bakersfield, they will head out on the road to face off against West at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
