Baseball Recap: Lakeside Wins Going Away Against Northgate

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Lakeside walked away with it. They blew past Northgate 13-3 on Wednesday. Lakeside might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matches by six runs or more this season.

Jason Ludnai looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one hit in 14 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Grant Jackson was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Micah Von, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Lakeside kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive games.

Lakeside has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-10-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Northgate, their defeat dropped their record down to 23-8.

As of now, neither Lakeside nor Northgate have any future games scheduled.
