Baseball Game Preview: Unity Christian Lions vs. Oakwood Christian Eagles

Unity Christian is preparing for their first region matchup of the season on Thursday. They will host the Oakwood Christian Eagles at 5:30 p.m. Unity Christian has given up an average of 9.2 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Unity Christian lost 17-7 to Cornerstone Christian on Saturday.

William Wilson and Hayden Darnell did some serious damage despite the final result: Wilson got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI, while Darnell scored a run while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. Aaron Kennett also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Monday. Oakwood Christian fell 7-3 to Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts. Oakwood Christian has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Oakwood Christian saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joseph Warland, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Graham Meyer was another, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Oakwood Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Unity Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.

Unity Christian suffered a grim 25-13 defeat to Oakwood Christian when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Unity Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
