Basketball Game Preview: Methacton Warriors vs. Springfield Township Spartans

The Methacton Warriors will take on the Springfield Township Spartans at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Methacton is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.1 points per game this season.

Last Thursday, Methacton didn't have too much trouble with Boyertown as they won 44-27. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 160th, while the Bears are ranked 365th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Methacton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ava Wolf, who posted eight points along with nine rebounds and five assists. Those five assists gave Wolf a new career-high. Abby Arnold was another key player, going 6 of 15 on her way to 15 points and five boards.

Meanwhile, Springfield Township unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They took a hard 68-51 fall against Lower Moreland.

Methacton is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.2 points per game. As for Springfield Township, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.
