Athenian has gone 8-1-1 against Bentley recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Owls will welcome the Phoenix at 4:00 p.m.

Athenian is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of California's top teams: College Prep, who was ranked sixth at the time (Athenian was ranked second). The Owls fell 3-1 to the Cougars on Tuesday. The matchup was a 1-1 toss-up at halftime, but Athenian couldn't quite close it out.

Meanwhile, Bentley kept a clean sheet against St. Joseph Notre Dame on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Pilots with a sharp 4-0 victory. Considering Bentley have won six matches by more than three goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Athenian's defeat dropped their record down to 11-2. As for Bentley, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 7-2.

Athenian beat Bentley by a goal in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, winning 1-0. Will the Owls repeat their success, or do the Phoenix have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
