Basketball Game Preview: La Salle Lancers vs. St. Mary's Academy Belles

The La Salle Lancers just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the St. Mary's Academy Belles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

La Salle is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of California's top teams: Bishop Montgomery, who was ranked sixth at the time (La Salle was ranked 25th). La Salle fell just short of Bishop Montgomery by a score of 44-41 on Monday. The Lancers have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.

Meanwhile, St. Mary's Academy didn't have too much trouble with Portola on Saturday as they won 71-57.

St. Mary's Academy has also been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.0 points per game. As for La Salle, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-4.

La Salle was able to grind out a solid win over St. Mary's Academy in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, winning 54-41. The rematch might be a little tougher for La Salle since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
