Recap: Burroughs Bears vs. Pasadena Bulldogs
The Burroughs Bears waltzed into their contest on Friday with seven straight wins but they left with eight. They walked away with a 45-35 victory over Pasadena. Given Burroughs' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 134th, while Pasadena is ranked 466th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Burroughs to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mariam Fahs, who scored seven points along with 11 rebounds and five steals. Valentina Morales was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Burroughs is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 20-2 record this season. As for Pasadena, their loss dropped their record down to 12-10.
Burroughs won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Alemany at 12:00 p.m. on January 20th. Alemany is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak. As for Pasadena, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Burbank at 6:30 p.m. Burbank is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
