Softball Recap: Highway 91 vs. Twin River Titans
Highway 91 extended their losing streak to eight on Thursday, dropping them down to 1-8. They came up short against the Twin River Titans, falling 12-1. Highway 91 was not able to make up for their loss to Twin River from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.
As for Twin River, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games.
For Twin River's part, Laynie Allen looked comfortable as she tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on JLee Van Driel, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last 14 matches. The team also got some help courtesy of Kielyn Dohmen, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs.
Highway 91 has already played their next game, a 9-0 defeat against Logan View/Scribner-Snyder on the 13th. As for Twin River, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 14-1 victory against Adams Central on the 13th.
