While DeKalb's win against Wawasee wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Barons had just enough and edged out the Warriors 1-0. The one-run effort marked the Barons' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

The result came thanks to Bo Minehart's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, DeKalb's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Reagan Hess, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run. That's the most stolen bases Hess has posted since back in April.

DeKalb hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wawasee struck out seven times.

DeKalb's win bumped their record up to 17-4. As for Wawasee, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 13 of their last 15 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-19 record this season.

DeKalb and Wawasee are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Barons will take on Garrett at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Railroaders will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something DeKalb surely won't give up without a fight. As for Wawasee, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Jimtown at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
