Recap: Wyoming Area Warriors vs. MMI Preparatory School
The Wyoming Area Warriors's game last Wednesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. Everything went their way against MMI Preparatory School as Wyoming Area made off with a 41-16 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Wyoming Area has posted yet this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Wyoming Area to victory, but perhaps none more so than Addison Gaylord, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Shannon Kearns, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and six steals.
When it comes to explaining why MMI Preparatory School lost, one person who can't be blamed is Bria Kringe. Despite the final result, she scored 12 points along with five steals. That was a full 75% of MMI Preparatory School's points, marking the 12th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, MMI Preparatory School struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Wyoming Area posted eight assists.
Wyoming Area's win ended a 12-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-12. As for MMI Preparatory School, they bumped their record down to 3-9 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.
Wyoming Area will take on Lake-Lehman at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for MMI Preparatory School, they will head out on the road to take on Greater Nanticoke Area at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Greater Nanticoke Area knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five games -- so hopefully MMI Preparatory School likes a good challenge.
