Mercer's loss ends three-game winning streak at home

Recap: Mercer Mustangs vs. Kennedy Catholic

It was a good run, but the Mercer Mustangs unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Monday. They were dealt a 64-19 defeat at the hands of Kennedy Catholic. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Mercer has scored all season.

Kennedy Catholic found their leader in underclassman Tori Harvey, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds and six steals. That's the first time this season that Harvey scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Magestro, who scored 16 points along with four steals.

Mercer's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-2. As for Kennedy Catholic, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.

Mercer will be playing in front of their home fans against West Middlesex at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Pennsylvania (West Middlesex is ranked 229th, while Mercer is ranked 234th). As for Kennedy Catholic, they will head out on the road to square off against North Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. North Catholic will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
