Basketball Recap: Esparto's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Esparto came into Tuesday's match having lost ten straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They managed a 35-29 victory over the San Juan Spartans on Tuesday. Esparto's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Esparto's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kay Schneider, who posted 18 points. Those 18 points gave Schneider a new career-high. Lisandra Martinez was another key player, putting up ten points.

Esparto's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for San Juan, their loss was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-4.

Esparto will venture away from home to square off against Westlake Charter at 6:00 p.m. on December 17th. Westlake Charter's defense has only allowed 17.5 points per game this season, so Esparto's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for San Juan, they will be playing at home against Florin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
