Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Yreka). They came out on top against the Lassen Grizzlies by a score of 72-62 on Tuesday. That's more bragging rights for the Miners, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Despite the loss, Lassen had strong showings from Nellie Ratcliff, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 boards, and Kinley Somerville, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds. Somerville has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Lucy Olson, who posted eight points.

Yreka's victory bumped their record up to 10-11. As for Lassen, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.

Yreka will venture away from home to face off against Anderson at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Anderson will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Yreka surely won't give up without a fight. As for Lassen, they will host Central Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lassen is facing Central Valley at the right time seeing as Central Valley is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
