Recap: Tulare Union The Tribe vs. Hanford Bullpups
The Tulare Union The Tribe lost against the Hanford Bullpups back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Tulare Union fell 38-26 to Hanford. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Tulare Union in their matchups with Hanford: they've now lost three in a row.
Several The Tribe players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mason Hatton, who scored four points along with eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kailee Gilbert, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Kenyah Stubbs continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Hanford, scoring 16 points along with six rebounds and six steals. That makes it 17 consecutive games in which Stubbs has scored at least a third of Hanford's points. Jaaylah Capers was another key contributor, scoring three points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Tulare Union's defeat dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Hanford, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-10.
Tulare Union won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Shafter at 2:00 p.m. on January 13th. Shafter will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak. As for Hanford, they will head out on the road to challenge Tulare Western at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
