Basketball Game Preview: Clayton Valley Charter Ugly Eagles vs. Acalanes Dons

Clayton Valley Charter is 1-9 against Acalanes since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. Having just played yesterday, the Clayton Valley Charter Ugly Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Acalanes Dons at 7:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Clayton Valley Charter comes in on nine and Acalanes on eight.

On Tuesday, Clayton Valley Charter beat Campolindo 55-47. Given the Ugly Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 68th, while the Cougars are ranked 237th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Acalanes really took it to Mt. Diablo for the full four quarters, racking up a 66-39 win. The Dons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 16 matches by 21 points or more this season.

Clayton Valley Charter has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.7 points per game. As for Acalanes, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-1.

Clayton Valley Charter took a serious blow against Acalanes in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, falling 68-39. Can Clayton Valley Charter avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
