Baseball Recap: Calvary Christian Has No Trouble Against Westfield School

Calvary Christian barely beat Westfield School the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Calvary Christian Knights' pitchers stepped up to hand the Westfield School Hornets a 10-0 shutout on Tuesday. The match marked the Knights' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Braxton Wilkinson tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched.

At the plate, Calvary Christian let Nate Osborne and Tommy Irving run wild. Osborne went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run, while Irving went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. The dominant performance gave Osborne a new career-high in RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryson Brooks, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Calvary Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .562. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Calvary Christian is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. Westfield School's loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-5.
