Soccer Game Preview: Mission Bay vs. University City

The Mission Bay Buccaneers will square off against the University City Centurions at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Mission Bay's defense has only allowed 0.2 goals per game this season, so University City's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Mission Bay's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Clairemont as Mission Bay made off with a 3-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Buccaneers, who have now won eight games by three goals or more so far this season.

Malayah Warner and Lyla Anglin scored all three of Mission Bay's goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

Meanwhile, for the first time since back in January, University City was forced to settle for a draw on Wednesday. They and Scripps Ranch finished up on equal footing with a 2-2 draw.

Mission Bay's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-2-1. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those six contests. With that draw, University City's record moves to 5-7-4.
