Preview: Cumberland Valley Christian Blazers vs. Shalom Christian Academy Flames

Cumberland Valley Christian is 2-8 against Shalom Christian Academy since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Cumberland Valley Christian Blazers will look to defend their home court against the Shalom Christian Academy Flames at 6:45 p.m. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Tuesday, Cumberland Valley Christian strolled past St. James with points to spare, taking the game 43-27. The victory was just what Cumberland Valley Christian needed coming off of a 60-25 loss in their prior matchup.

Meanwhile, Shalom Christian Academy came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with nine straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27 points) and they left with even more momentum. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat New Life Christian 51-12 on the road. Shalom Christian Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 22 points or more this season.

Shalom Christian Academy can attribute much of their success to Maya Lehman, who scored 17 points along with four steals, and Addison Adams, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lehman has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaicee Keller, who scored two points along with five rebounds and four steals.

The victory got Cumberland Valley Christian back to even at 8-8. As for Shalom Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.

Cumberland Valley Christian was taken down by Shalom Christian Academy 60-25 when the teams last played last Monday. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Adams, who scored 21 points along with six rebounds and five steals.
