Basketball Game Preview: Hill Falcons vs. Live Oak Acorns

The Hill Falcons will head out on the road to take on the Live Oak Acorns at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hill will be strutting in after a victory while Live Oak will be coming in after a loss.

Live Oak will be up against a hot Hill team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. Hill had just enough and edged Yerba Buena out 44-41. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Falcons have posted against the Aztec Warriors since February 8, 2018.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 62 points the game before, Live Oak was a bit more limited in their game on Thursday. They lost 42-22 to Del Mar. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Acorns have suffered since December 12, 2024.

Hill will have to contain Amelya Forbis as she made an impact in Live Oak's last game. She posted six points.

Hill pushed their record up to 10-11 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.0 points over those games. As for Live Oak, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 11-1 and their overall record down to 17-7.

Hill was dealt a bruising 45-13 defeat at the hands of Live Oak when the teams last played back in December of 2024.
